Glamour Girl plot
Ray Royle's marriage to record label talent scout Lorraine ends in divorce after she tries to control him, both in his personal and professional life. Lorraine's employer TJ Hopkins sends her to Memphis to sign a contract with a singing trio he admires. On the way, however, Lorraine is forced to spend the night on a farm. There she hears Jennie Higgins singing folk songs and playing the zither. Lorraine senses that Jennie could become a sensation and takes her back to New York, without signing a contract with the singing trio. Higgins is furious and he refuses to listen to Jennie. Lorraine and her colleagues Johnny Evans and Buddy Butterfield then quit their job and start their own small record company.
