Girl plot
"The curious relationship between a girl and her mother is threatened by the hostile community around them."
Grace and her daughter Ama maintain a close bond, but that changes when they start a new life in Glasgow. Ama is just entering puberty and this phase reminds Grace of her own painful teenage years. Their sheltered world is gradually crumbling.

Young mother Grace [Déborah Lukumuena] keeps herself and her daughter Ama [Le'Shantey Bonsu] hidden from the outside world as much as possible. Under pressure from a truancy officer [Ayesha Antoine], Ama returns to school, where she befriends Fiona [Liana Turner] and discovers that the outside world might not be as dangerous as her mother claims. Onashile provides little insight into the reasons for Grace's compulsive behavior. Moreover, the story is rather thin, and only the scenes with Ama and Fiona offer some relief in the darkness.
