Gegen die Regel plot

Police officers Klaus Weber (Günther Lamprecht) and Franz Kroll (Helmut Zierl) are good colleagues. They help each other with the renovation of their houses. Klaus hopes for a promotion, while things are happening at home that he doesn't like. His wife Helga (Claudia Amm) participates too much in the neighborhood council for his taste. His son Andreas (Michael Klein), who attends the gymnasium, thinks his father is just a swine in uniform. During an argument, a man who is under the influence beats up a woman. Franz and Klaus are called in, and Klaus intervenes appropriately to keep things from escalating. Franz keeps extremely calm, despite the fact that the victim is his girlfriend. Afterwards, they arrest a motorist, who they believe has committed a violation. The man does not agree with them, whereupon Franz vents his pent-up anger and mistreats the man.
