Gedenktag plot

A dramatized documentary about the uprising in East Germany against the communist dictatorship on June 17, 1953, which crushed Walter Ulbricht's puppet regime with the help of Soviet Soviet tanks. Wedel analyzes the causes on the basis of events at the Electro-Chemical Kombinat in Bitterfeld. A student with a mouth that was too big was taken out of traffic and disappeared without a trace, as it turned out later, to a re-education institution. Unreasonable production targets were suddenly imposed, wages were cut, etc., causing a spontaneous strike, which in turn led to great drama.
