Pregnant Sally Wyndham is left alone when her lover Dan Pritchard dies. Later, Sally gives up her son Deedy in tears and starts a new life. Sally enjoys success as an interior decorator, yet longs to be reunited with her son. Then Cynthia Haddon, the first wife of Philip Lawrence, the man who adopted Deedy, dies. Sally plans to marry Philip.
