Friederike von Barring plot

Friederike von Barring, the descendant of an East Prussian family of landowners, wants nothing more to do with them. Instead, she starts a career as a chanson singer and travels around the United States with a cabaret. But because she is homesick, Friederike soon returns to Berlin. Meanwhile, the Second World War is raging and the Russians are already standing at the gates of the city.
