Fräulein Berlin plot

Fräulein Berlin is the alias of an underground film actress who has failed to take off either in her career or in her personal life. She consults one fortune teller after another in hopes of getting some traction, but grows more desperate with each visit. A director friend is invited to the Toronto film festival, but doesn't feel like going. He asks her to represent his film. She seizes this as an opportunity to build a new life in America.
