Foudre plot

Lyrical, multifaceted essay on one of the most fascinating natural phenomena: lightning. In four chapters linked to the seasons, the documentary maker goes in search of the meaning and influence of lightning. In chapter 1, the autumn, lightning hunter Baal tells about his passion and five victims speak about their experiences. In the winter, the healing effect of electricity is discussed, with a psychiatrist using electric shocks. Spring represents the myth, which is articulated by an archaeologist cum seer working in Syria, who tells about the magical power of the truffle Kama. In the summer, love that strikes like lightning is depicted in a poetic costume drama about two lovers on an island.
