Flood Tide plot

A retired lock keeper and his wife believe it's important for their son, Ted Salter, who serves in the Royal Navy, to start a family. They hope this will happen with his childhood sweetheart, Betty, the daughter of their old friend Bill Buckett, who operates a boat on the River Thames. However, Ted has a fling with a flirtatious barmaid and even risks arrest as a deserter.
