Fliegende Fische Müssen ins Meer plot
In a small provincial town on the Rhine, a crisis rages between Roberta and her teenage daughter Nana. Nana, who passes as the smartest in the four-person household and also has to look after her younger brother and sister, blames her mother's disability for her upbringing. Roberta turns out to have a drinking problem and to wear out quite a few men. Not only the gossips in the village are talking about this, but it is also on the ears of the social services. As the loss of parenthood threatens, Nana and her brother and sister prepare to find the true man for their mother before being separated from each other for good.
