Fires of Rebellion plot
Madge Garvey, dreading the drab and loveless factory life she sees all around her, refuses the marriage proposal of factory foreman John Blake, a rough but honest man. This is because she fears that he will degenerate into the brutal drunkard that her father Joe has become. Instead, Madge follows the advice of stenographer Cora Hayes and seeks work in the big city. Arriving in the city, Madge accepts a job as a model for ladies' underwear, but is shocked by the brevity of the garments and the tasks expected of her beyond the posing.
