Fickende Fische plot
"When you find the right one, hold onto it!"
A goldfish and Nina's inability to stop her inline skates in time bring Jan and Nina together in one fell swoop. Jan is a sixteen-year-old loner, who was infected with HIV years ago through a fatal blood transfusion. His passion is the underwater world, in which he prefers to immerse himself in order to forget his illness and his overprotective mother. Nina is a year younger but completely different: bold, independent and spontaneous. Her mother is far away in Kenya and she cannot count on her brother and father. Despite these differences, Nina and Jan have a lot in common. They break out of their everyday life together and look for a paradise for themselves. Meanwhile, they grapple with the question of whether fish have real sex. Their paradise is threatened by adults, misunderstandings and by the undeniable reality of Jan's infection.
