Feuerherz plot
Eritrea in the early 1980s. Awet's mother left her when she was just a baby. She grows up in an orphanage with Italian nuns. Awet is assertive, a cutthroat and she is not afraid to stand on the barricades in case of injustice. When her father makes contact again, her life will change drastically. Awet and her sister leave for their new family. Yet they cannot ground it there. Her father - a rebel leader - decides to place his daughters with one of Eritrea's liberation armies. There the girls are trained as soldiers where they are confronted with a senseless war and fanatics.
