Familie Rechlin plot
When the Berlin Wall was built in 1961, the Rechlin family was also separated from each other, but they did not realize the consequences. Only six months later, Grandma Ingelore from East Berlin can go West to see her newborn grandson. Son Bernd, who lives in the Eastern part, can no longer bear it, because his girlfriend ends up in prison for attempting to flee the Republic.
