Falling Leaves plot
It's early fall and Dr. Headley eagerly demonstrates what appears to be a miraculous treatment for tuberculosis. Not far from where he is working, the disease seems to soon be taking another life, a teenage girl named Winifred. Her little sister Trixie overhears the doctor saying that Winifred will die as soon as the last leaf falls from the tree. Trixie interprets the words literally and decides to do everything possible to save her sister.

The first film I saw from the first female director ever. Alice Guy has an impressive resume, a pioneer of her time. That alone makes me appreciate this film, which has a fairly simple story, even more. A touching film about a girl who tries to save her big sister's life by sticking the leaves back on the trees, because the doctor said she will die as soon as the last leaf has fallen from the trees.
