"Everything Strange and New" paints an intimate portrait of ordinary people and their desire for certainty in uncertain times. Wayne has a job, a wife, two children and a house; the perfect 'American Dream'. But the line between dream and nightmare is very thin. Wayne is not happy with the life he is living because he is constantly working on the life he would like to lead. He passively floats on the waves of an existence with his emotionally unpredictable wife, his unruly young children and his friends who are constantly in trouble and have their own problems. He doesn't feel that his life is over, but that there is nothing left to fight for. Sometimes it seems that he is a character in someone else's life. But then a violent impulse awakens him from this feverish dream…
