Eran Trecento... (La Spigolatrice di Sapri) plot

In 1857 in Lucania there are several troops of liberals led by a mysterious centurion. Called "Volpintesta" he is none other than Paolo, Lucia's fiancée who takes advantage of Don Franco's hospitality when Paolo has to hide. Even as a liberal, Don Franco does not fear ambushes as he is the brother of the general of the Bourbons. One night, Don Franco, who is in love with Lucia, enters her bedroom and tries to kiss the girl, but Lucia fiercely resists his advances. She is rescued by Paolo who takes her to his hideout in the mountains. The patriots under Paolo's command are all mobilized to leave and join him. Don Franco also joins them, as his brother has been killed. His feelings have changed and he asks the girl to forgive him for his inappropriate behavior...
