(Entre Nous) plot

A family lives on an island off the French coast, far from the outside world. They lead their own lives. Brother and sister sometimes take the boat to go fishing. It soon becomes clear that mother is like a mother goose on her children. She is overprotective and that suffocates in the long run of course. That's how it goes here. Both brother and sister would prefer to move to a normal house on the mainland. Mother is actually sick and needs urgent treatment, but she refuses to move. The doctor is fetched and comes every day with a boat to see how things are going. Everyone plans to leave, except for Mother of course, but no one makes the move. When the moment finally comes, disaster strikes...
