Ende der Unschuld plot

On August 6, 1945, ten German scientists heard on the radio that the first atomic bomb had been dropped on Hiroshima. Although they have been developing a nuclear reactor themselves since 1938, they react with dismay that turns into curiosity: How could the Americans succeed in something they themselves hadn't been able to do before? After the end of the war they are interrogated in Farm Hall by the British secret services. It turns out that two scientists, Otto Hahn (Rolf Hoppe) and Lise Meitner (Hanne Hiob) had already mastered the secret of nuclear fission in 1938.
