Elveda Katya plot

It's time for Katya to leave the orphanage in Batum where she grew up. A mysterious lady waiting for her outside the doors of the orphanage tells her that she is the daughter of a sailor named Yunus from Trabzon. She decides to go to Trabzon, but her journey ends in disappointment when she is confronted with her father's disapproval. Sailor Yunus, unaware that he had a daughter, has a happy life with his family. He lives in a conservative neighborhood and therefore does not welcome Katya with open arms. He lets Katya fight alone against the prejudices of the local population, who believe that all Russian women are prostitutes. The film is based on a true story.
