Eleven P.M. plot
Young African-American athlete and writer Louis Perry hands Harry Brown, the editor of a religious newspaper, an incomplete manuscript he is writing. Perry tells Brown that he believes that with thought it is possible for humans to resort to a lower form of animal existence. Though skeptical, Brown asks Perry to finish the story that evening, before 11 a.m., because it has to go to print after that. When Roy Stewart, a boxing promoter, learns that one of his boxers, who was due to fight at midnight, has broken his thumb, he contacts Perry. Perry has to replace him and he wants to pick him up at 11pm.
