East Lynne plot

Isabel, a local beauty, falls in love with Archibald Carlisle, an idealistic lawyer, and agrees to marry him. The couple soon has two beautiful, curly-haired children and everything seems to be going well, until a villain enters their lives. Captain Levison brutally makes his way through the countryside. His latest adventure ended with a murder. Levison bribes the only witness and wants to frame young Richard Hare for it. However, he flees. Richard's sister, Barbara, had a crush on Archibald before marrying Isabel and asks him for help in clearing her brother's name.
