Dukhov Den plot
In a village in Tula Oblast live almost exclusively Khristoforovs, who are said to possess supernatural powers. Ivan Khristoforov is the son of a strict, unbelieving and communist father, but of a religious, counter-revolutionary grandfather, who leads a secluded life in the village. Despite the penal camps and torture, he clings to his monarchist ideals. Little Ivan is punished by his father and the local officer for allegedly blowing up the school in the village with his head. When Ivan is an adult and lives in the city, he causes another explosion, this time in his own flat. He is then taken away by the authorities to an institution for people with supernatural powers.
