"Half time is game time"
A talented street drummer from Harlem begins college at a university in the south of the country. He expects to help the band from the university to victories. However, he discovers that this requires more than talent alone.

No more than a lame dime a dozen cliché music drama, which I just haven't gotten over my head yet.
To be honest, I also don't understand that anyone can say that this film has "depth", because there is no depth in it but a lot of clichés (eg keep going, giving up and coming out) and the course of the story was also once very predictable. The only nice thing about this film was the geography and the performance of the Jostiband-esque drum bands. The cast was quite stereotypical, and that especially applied to the unrecognizable young Zoe Saldana.
No, I shouldn't have watched this film, which also lasts way too long, because I didn't have much fun with it and I thought the ending was terribly bad. I also don't understand why they won, because the other team was just better.

Drumline has to rely mainly on the strongly performed drum sessions. The story itself is not very special and actors like Cannon, Jones, Roberts and GQ are not too strong. It's nice to see Zoe Saldana, who was still here at the beginning of her career. And towards the end there are some really great drumming sessions in it.
