Doctor Vlimmen plot

Flanders, in 1929. The idiosyncratic, free-spirited vet doctor Vlimmen lives with his sister Truus and her son in a small village. Every day he has to fight against the mistrust of the farmers and the gossip of the villagers. His private life is overshadowed by the affair of his abandoned wife. His social status takes a second blow when his maid Mientje refers to him as the father of her child.
