Die Ortliebschen Frauen plot

The Ortlieb family, mother, son and two daughters, have left the cemetery where father was buried. The son Walter has a slight limp, plays the guitar and is somewhat shy. He gives the impression that he needs to be protected. The mother and sister Anna also seem very timid in their prudish way of life and give the impression of being immature. Opposite this is the sister Josefine, who takes charge as a strong guardian of the family. She wants to keep the family together and protect it as a unit from the world outside.
