Dezertir plot

In the port of Hamburg there is a strike organized by left-wing parties. A wise and forgiving Communist leader decides that young worker Karl Renn (Boris Livanov) must travel to the Soviet Union as an international delegate. This is because Renn has deserted and expressed his doubts about the methods of class struggle in his country. Renn leaves for the Soviet Union, but returns when the German government tries to end the strike by force.
