Destello Bravío plot
With a cassette recorder, Isa records messages for herself, which she later plays back. “A mighty flash of light will appear over the village, which will change everything,” she hears herself say. "It's beautiful. We all get headaches, we lose our memory and we disappear.” Isa hopes for change and that is not surprising. She lives in a small town in southwestern Spain, where nothing ever happens. Young people leave the area. For those who still live there, time seems to stand still. Cita is not satisfied with that; she hopes for something else. She leaves her husband and wanders through the town. Isa, Cita and other women are followed as they try to break free from their static existence. A group of ladies have lunch and gossip together. Old María mourns her late husband Paco. Sometimes one hears a sound that escapes everyone else. Female lusts play on, whether or not under the influence of home-baked sweets. At night and in the early morning everything sounds different.
