Desaparadiso plot

What can a family do if someone disappears in a dictatorship? You cannot go to the police for help or information. Many families were thus affected by the atrocities of the Marcos dictatorship (1972-1986). The film shows one, as an example of paradise lost. 'Desaparadiso' means removed from paradise and refers to the people who disappeared during the black years, which began when dictator Ferdinand Marcos held the country in a vice.
