Der Zynische Körper plot

Five people leaf through the notebooks of the late teacher Roy, who was their friend, reconstructing their mutual transience. They are the writer Carl, his roommate and photographer Liza, the architect Jon for whom Liza photographs, the illustrator Fred, who passes on Carl's sketches for his novel, and translator Bela, who collects Freudian slips. Carl has trouble writing. From his novel character Rob a 'real' person develops who will form an ever greater threat to his life. Roy supports the author Carl, but he is struck by a serious illness. In order not to burden him with their superfluous presence, Carl, Jon and Liza go on an architectural Tour of Spain. Bela and Fred are left behind and are dealing with Roy's decline. In Barcelona, the travelers suddenly receive the news of Roy's death...
