Der Teufelskreis plot
"Evil hangs over the capital of Germany", clairvoyant Erik Jan Hanussen, who in real life is actually called Herschel Steinschneider, begins his occult experimental lecture. Shortly afterwards, he predicts the fire of a large building. However, in the background is the real mastermind: Count Helldorf, obergruppenführer of the SA (Sturmabteilung or Bruinshirts). Not only did he arrange the upcoming event, he also invented the secret plan that evening, together with the Dutchman Marinus van der Lubbe. On the night of February 27-28, 1933, shortly before the Reichstag elections, the whole nation is told: the Reichstag in Berlin is on fire. A hitherto unprecedented wave of arrests of politically unpopular citizens is sweeping the country.
