Der Kleine Lord plot

The cheerful and cheerful Cedric Errol - usually called Ceddie - lives in a poor neighborhood of New York. His best friends are Mr. Hobbs, who owns a grocery store where Ceddie often helps with the bookkeeping, and the shoe shiner Dick, who earns his living at the entrance to the 6th Avenue subway station. One day, the high-spirited boy learns that he is going to accompany his grandfather to England. With his father dead and his grandfather in need of an heir, Ceddie now lives in a castle as Lord Fauntleroy.
