Dead Souls plot

Dead Souls tells the story of a Dutch woman who, after a miserable marriage with a tyrannical husband, experiences an American adventure with the freebooter Tony. During her stay in America, the land of her dreams, she does all the things that God and her husband had forbidden her to do. However, when it turns out that she falls back into the same pattern with her American lover as with her husband, her dream gradually turns into a nightmare.
