De Grot van Plato plot

The parable about the cave, by the Greek philosopher Plato, is used here for a literally and figuratively shadowy story about four young people in Amsterdam. As experienced work avoiders, they devote themselves to the art of turning boredom into a virtue. We see them touring on a mobylette, proletarian shopping, experimental painting, playing poker, billiards, using drugs, committing a bank robbery and debiting endless semi-poetic, quasi-philosophical and above all student-like talk about the (dis)pleasure of life.
