Daughters of Today plot

Country girl Mabel Vandergrift convinces her old-fashioned parents Dirk and Ma Vandegrift that she should attend a trendy college in the city. There, Mabel ends up in a group of epicureans led by Lois Whittall. Lois is a motherless and wealthy girl whose father Leigh Whittall has a bon vivant as girlfriend. Despite the wild parties she attends with activities like strip poker and walking around in underwear, Mabel remains a careful girl. When Reggy Adams tries to force herself on her, Mabel rejects him. But then Reggy is found dead and Mabel is charged with murder.
