Das Pferdemädchen plot
Somewhere in the country, between Mecklenburg and Brandenburg, Irka lives with her parents, brothers and sisters. Irka's best friend is the mare Raya. The mare was once a fantastic tournament horse, but now she has grown old and the stud wants to get rid of her. That's how Irka's father bought Raya. Although the animal is nearly blind, Irka still goes out riding with her. One day Raya becomes very ill, Irka and her father believe that, but one stormy night Raya becomes the mother of a small stallion. Inka can enforce a promise from her father to keep the couple forever. The foal is named Mitscha. But one day it becomes clear to her that her father cannot keep his promise...
