In a Norwegian spa town, Julie (Karin Baal) meets the con man Oliver (Helmut Lohner) and falls in love with him. The shy and simple Daniel (Hansjörg Felmy) has a crush on Julie in turn. When Oliver has to flee from the police, Julie discovers that she is expecting him. She convinces Daniel that the child is his, but in the meantime continues to hope that Oliver will return. When this finally happens, Daniel is all wrong...
