Das Graupenschloß plot

A plate of hot soup or a piece of bread means a lot to the people of war-torn Germany, especially to young people who no longer have a home. War orphans, tormented by doubts and worries, find a home in an abandoned castle in Thuringia. Together with their educators, they learn how to draw strength from serene and serious situations. For dinner there is usually only a soft barley soup and over time they experience a sense of protection and security together. And then suddenly there is peace...
