Das Brot der Frühen Jahre plot
This film is about the history of the young washing machine mechanic Walter Fendrich. He has been on his own two feet for a long time, lives in the big city, has his own car, a fat bank balance and is engaged to his boss's daughter. Sometimes he still thinks about the hunger and the miserable condition of his youth. Walter's whole life is going exactly according to the planned schedule. As a future son-in-law, he will be even closer to the company. Then he meets Hedwig Muller, a girl from the city of his youth, and he breaks with his whole adjusted life. Based on a book by Heinrich Böll.
