Dakhal plot
In a fertile riverine area of India, two “castes” compete: a kind of gypsy group and a wealthy farming family. A woman from the nomadic group falls for a farmer. They can't even marry but still raise a family and become outcasts, though they keep their property. When the man dies, a gentleman wants to take all possessions from the woman. He can legally do that, because she was not married and therefore cannot inherit anything. Humiliated and deceived, the woman refuses to become the slave of either group. Then her house is set on fire...
