Bucharest, 1989 before the fall of Ceaușescu. After a friend of Eva accidentally breaks a bust of Ceaușescu and she is more or less forced to take the blame for it, she is sent to a reform institute. There she meets Andrei, the son of a dissident, who offers her the choice of fleeing with him or choosing her family.
