After Fred von Bergen, a German immigrant to America, is forced to resign by anti-German hysteria shortly before the outbreak of World War I, he and his friend Bob Wilson leave America. Fred joins the German Air Force. In Germany, Fred and Bob fall in love with ambulance driver Alida Hoffman. When America joins World War I, Bob faces a dilemma. Bob is caught between loyalty to his country of origin and the threat of execution for desertion and betrayal towards Germany. Can Fred solve Bob's dilemma?
