Coming Out of the Ice plot
Victor was born in Russia, but he spent his childhood in America. His family eventually returns to Russia and when he wins the World Skydiving Championship there, he refuses to accept an award from Josef Stalin. He admits that he is an American citizen, and is punished with exile to a labor camp in Siberia.
