Comet over Broadway plot
"Yesterday, the queen of burlesque. Today, the toast of Broadway. Tomorrow, a woman of the shadows."
Eve, wife of garage owner Bill Appleton, has ambitions to make it in the theater. However, Bill gets into an argument with a visiting actor about her, accidentally kills him and is sent to jail. Eve, aware of her part in Bill's fate, vows to make things right. She leaves with her daughter to find her way in the world of the theatre.
