Color of a Brisk and Leaping Day plot
Los Angeles, at the time of the end of World War II. John Lee is a young man torn between his humble Chinese heritage - his grandfather was a railway worker - and the aristocratic side he inherited from his French mother. He is obsessed with trains, at a time when the car is rapidly displacing this mode of transport. When John learns that the 78-mile Yosemite Valley Railroad is about to be closed, he seeks the financial help of a wealthy businessman to become a rail company manager, hoping to reverse the railroad's inevitable fate. Color of a Brisk and Leaping Day is based on a true story.
