Clubland plot

Jean Dwight (Brenda Blethyn) is a comedienne who has seen better days. Brave but full of longing for the past, she continues with her shows. Her two sons are waiting at home. The shy and quirky Tim and his equally strange brother Mark. Then there's their father and Jean's husband, who don't seem to interfere. They all seem trapped in a circle of chaos and misunderstanding. When Tim comes home one day with his new girlfriend Jill, this smooth young woman seems the right person to break the circle. But then Jean begins to fear for her family and sees a great danger in Jill. The household that was never stable turns into a battle zone.
