Class of '85 plot

The story is set in the mid-1980s. Mr. Murphy is an unorthodox high school teacher who teaches a small class of nine students. Calvin Mayfield, a new student in class, falls head over heels for the girl Kerri Kennedy. But because he is so shy, he has trouble building a friendship and relationship with her. So he seeks advice from a local inmate, Lawrence, who starts giving him lessons on how to get this girl. Meanwhile, Lawrence secretly receives life lessons from Mr. Murphy.
