Children of the Sun plot

The year is 1814 when Tikiri's husband, along with other Buddhist nobles, tries to drive out the king. If this fails, the wives of the insurgents are punished. Tikiri is forced to marry Vijaya, a man of the lowest class. However, he is unable to involve his new wife in the rituals of his beggar people, whereupon the clan elder sends the couple away.
