Child of Manhattan plot

"The drama of a good girl with a bad name!"

Paul Vanderkill is extraordinarily rich. His grandfather bought farmland that would become Midtown Manhattan. The Loveland Dance Hall is one of the tenants of a piece of land belonging to the Vanderkills. To reassure his Aunt Sophie, Paul visits the Loveland Dance Hall to determine for himself whether it is indeed as outrageous as Sophie suspects. There he meets the simple Madeleine McGonagle, who charms him with her peculiar proletarian accent. They secretly start a love affair.
