Chekhov and Maria plot

Russian playwright Anton Chekhov has tuberculosis and is cared for by his sister Maria, with whom he lives in Yalta. He desperately tries to finish his piece "The Cherry Orchard". With Maria's help, he is able to continue writing the play. But when Maria discovers that he is secretly married to Olga Knipper, a Moscow theater actress, she feels betrayed and tries to prevent him from returning to Moscow. When Chekhov discovers how Maria manipulated him, the point is reached for a major confrontation.
